Eleven employees, including a pregnant staff, were trapped inside an elevator at the Iloilo City Hall for more than half an hour.
According to City Hall Building Administrator Vic Facultad, the elevator was misaligned, and stopped functioning after it was forcefully opened while going down.
The Bureau of Fire Protection used a harness and pulley to rescue the trapped employees who got out through the emergency trap door. The elevators in the IloIlo City, also malfunctioned in the previous years but were immediately repaired.
Boyet Rico, the Executive Assistant for Barangay Affairs of IloIlo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog, was one of the employees trapped inside the elevator.
