The Carlos Palanca Foundation Incorporated has begun accepting entries for the 67th Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards. Filipino citizens and former Filipino citizens can pass their works, either unpublished or published from May 1, 2016 to April 30, 2017, to the competition.
This year, writers can also submit entries for Novel and Nobela categories. These two categories are only open every two years. Other categories include: Short Stories (English/Filipino/Cebuano/Hiligaynon/Ilokano), Short Story for Children (English/Filipino), Essay (English/Filipino), Poetry (English/Filipino), Poetry Written for Children (English/Filipino), One-act play (English/Filipino), Full-length play (English/Filipino), and Screenplay (Filipino).
Writers below 18 years can also submit entries for the the Kabataan Essay category, with the theme ‘How can the youth contribute to building interest in Philippine culture and literature?.
