About 400 civilians are still trapped due to the continuous fighting in Marawi City, Lanao Del Sur.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines confirmed the more than a hundred of the trapped civilians are being used as human shields by the Maute Terror group.

According to the AFP, they continue their operations to rescue the civilians and to not endanger them.

Meanwhile, the AFP believes that the forces of the terrorist group are already weakening since about 257 of their troops have already been killed.

It is also believed that about 120 remaining Maute members are still hiding in four barangays in the city.
