After her controversial comment on the appointment of Mocha Uson as the Assistant Secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office, Bb. Pilipinas-International 2017 Mariel de Leon is at it again, this time castigating the Supreme Court’s decision to issue a Temporary Restraining Order on the distribution of contraceptives in the country.
The highest court issued the said TRO in 2015 prohibiting the Food and Drug Administration from granting and renewing certificates on contraceptives among others.
De Leon aired her sentiment via her social media account, stating about the benefits that contraceptives give to women suffering from PCOS, acne, severe dysmenorrhea and irregular period among other things.
The beauty queen also said that “women should take our bodies back”, when it comes to freedom of choice in family planning and women’s health.
The daughter of veteran actors’ Christopher De Leon and Sandy Andolong has always been vocal about social issues. In her past interview, though she already apologized to Mocha and wished her good luck on her new job, she mentioned that with or without the crown, she will remain critical on the many issues in our society.
