The Camp of Senator Leila De Lima is requesting the Muntinlupa City Regional Trial Court to consolidate the three cases filed against the Senator.
The Legal team of the Senator believes that it is much more practical to consolidate the cases rather than have three different judges hear the cases filed against her.
The Department of Justice filed cases against Sen. De Lima based on the evidence and testimonies that implicated the Senator in the New Bilibid Drug Trade.
However, Muntinlupa RTC Branch 206, who handles one of the cases filed against De Lima, denied the request, instead the camp of the Senator was given five days to give additional comments.
Meanwhile, the DOJ requested to the courts that the development of the cases against Sen. De Lima is kept away from the public.
But the legal team of De Lima insisted that they are not discussing the merits of the case to the public, but rather their petition of a Status Quo Ante Order for the arrest of Sen. De Lima.
