The Department of Transportation (DOTr) will start on May 18, 2017 the implementation of its new policy prohibiting the use of cellphone or any electronic gadgets while driving.

Based on the implementing rules and regulations issued by DOTr, motorists are not allowed to use their cellphones in calling and texting while driving or even during stops in intersections.

Along with this, DOTr encourages the public to cooperate in implementing the Anti-Distracted Driving Law and help in capturing violators through taking photos and or videos of motorists and drivers.

It is known that there are cases of road accidents involving drivers using electronic gadgets while driving.
