The Government is preparing to repair Marawi Cit, Lanao Del Sur, even though the conflict in the city is still ongoing.
According to Brigadier General Restituto Padilla, spokesperson of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, an assessment team will immediately enter Marawi once the crisis is over, and will check the extent of damage and what will be needed for the rehabilitation of the city.
Padilla insist on the importance of returning the situation in Marawi to normal, and to lessen the trauma brought by the ongoing war to the thousands of residents.
The fighting in Marawi City, which started due to an attack by the Maute terror group, has lasted for about a month.
President Rodrigo Duterte has previously announce that he would allocate Php 10 billion worth of funds for the rebuilding effort in Marawi City.
