It would be easier to impeach Vice President Leni Robredo than President Rodrigo Duterte.
This was the statement of Senate President Koko Pimentel following the threat of House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez that he is contemplating on filing an impeachment case against the Vice President.
During the weekly DZRH program, “May Bagong Pag-asa”, Pimentel said that if Alvarez will push through with his threat, the impeachment case may proceed up to the Senate.
Pimentel added that the super majority in Congress has more than 200 members.
If more than 100 lawmakers sign the impeachment complaint against Robredo, this may go straight to the Senate.
Prior to this, Alvarez said that he is not happy with the video message the Vice President sent to the United Nations, questioning the Duterte’s administration war on drugs. According to Alvarez, this gave the Philippines a bad image to the international community.
