Japan Prime Minister Abe arrives in Manila

Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has arrived for his two-day official visit to the Philippines.

The official airline carrier of the Prime Minister, who is accompanied by his wife, Akie Abe, landed at the Villamor Airbase around 2pm.

After being welcomed by officials of Malacanang, including Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea and Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay, Prime Minister Abe went straight to Malacanang for the welcome ceremony which started at 3:37 pm.

The Japanese Prime Minister was welcomed by President Rodrigo Duterte.

The two leaders are expected to discuss issues covering cunter-terrorism, business and maritime cooperation.
