President Rodrigo Duterte revealed that Jose Maria Sison has a rare bone marrow disease.

The President during the 25th AFAD Defense and Sporting Arms Show in Davao City, said that this is the reason why he allowed the Communist Party of the Philippines founding chairman to come home to the Philippines.

Duterte said that he wants Sison to come home.  The President added that he will make sure that Sison will be free to walk around, because he is ‘seriously sick.’

The President even volunteered to pay for his hospital bills.

Sison is currently in The Netherlands since 1986.  He was recently taken to a hospital in Oslo, and missed the closing ceremony of the third round of peace talks in Rome, Italy.
