June 19, 2015, marks the 154th birthday of Philippine National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, together with the said celebration is the opening of the Rizal Museum in Calamba, Laguna.
The museum is said to offer advanced exhibits and interactive technologies narrating the childhood, education and foreign travels of Rizal, which shaped his social and political consciousness to search for reforms from the Spanish colonial government through his writings.
One of the main attractions in the said museum is the bronze sculpture by noted artist Julie Lluch depicting Rizal as an itinerant scholar and patriot.
Budget Secretary Florencio Abad will be the guest of honor and speaker during the opening activities today.
Laguna Gov. Ramil Hernandez, Laguna Rep. Joaquin Chipeco Jr. and Calamba Mayor Justin Marc Chipeco will also be delivering key messages at the said event.
Meanwhile, at University of the Philippines in Manila, Rizal’s medical instruments will be on exhibit today at the Museum of History of Ideas.
