Malacanang will not dictate Vice President Jejomar Binay to resign from his post as member of President Benigno Aquino III’s Cabinet amid his constant criticism against the Aquino administration.

According to Presidential Spokesman Secretary Edwin Lacierda, it’s up to Vice President Binay if he wants to resign.  It will be his personal decision.

Lacierda added that it won’t be right for him to speak on the Vice President’s behalf because he’s not Binay’s spokesperson.

The Presidential Spokesman said that we should give the Vice President and his camp a chance to decide if he will quit from his post because he’ll soon be filing for his Certificate of Candidacy in October.

VP Binay is currently the Housing Czar and Presidential Adviser on OFWs concerns.

“I think that’s unfair for me to speak for the Vice President. I am not his spokesperson. That decision will ultimately be decided by the Vice President himself. And let us give him that window if he decides one way or the other….It is not proper for me to comment or to give an answer or response — a categorical response to that question. That is a political question that he must resolve by himself and his camp.”
