Senator Leila De Lima has submitted a counter affidavit in response to the ethics complaint filed against her by the leaders of the House of Representatives.

According to the lady senator, she wished for the Senate Committee on Ethics to drop the complaint filed against her by House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, House Majority Leader Rodolfo Fariñas and House Justice Committee Chairman Rey Umali.

De Lima insisted that there is no basis for the complaint since she was just advising her former lover-bodyguard Ronnie Dayan. It was revealed during a hearing of the House of Representatives that Sen. De Lima told her ex-lover to not testify regarding the Bilibid Drug Trade.

In the said ethics complaints, De Lima is accused of violating article 150 of the revised penal code for preventing Dayan to appear in the House Hearing regarding the drug trade in New Bilibid Prison.

De Lima reasoned out that she only advised Dayan, since the House Hearing has no other objective but to forcefully implicate her in the Bilibid Drug Trade, even without evidence.
